Actually bought this to pump oil into my land rover diffs and gear box. Have done 3 oil changes so far and working a treat
As mentioned in a previous review, the drive shaft is a weak point. The pump is quite stiff to turn and the shaft is not big enough to be held in a normal drill. A hexagon shaft would be better. The instructions said to turn it anticlockwise. This did not work for me, the arrows on the body indicate the flow is the wrong way. Eventually got it working, clockwise and flowing in the marked direction but then the shaft was worn and now runs with a lot of vibration. I will need to modify the drive shaft before it is usable again.
Looks good. Will be used for aquarium water transfer. Should be just the job. Thank you.
I think it is a good product for the price, however the round shaft makes the connection with a power drill difficult as it tends to slip in the drill chuck, a 6 sided end on the axle would be a major improvement.
Works well but very big warning, if you do not notice pump is running dry it will burn out very quick as i found out. Burnt out two of them.
The pump was adequate for the use i had for it. to drain a pond of the last 3 inches of water left. it took a while to do as i stopped the drill every so often, not to over heat the drill. For small jobs it is value for money.
Pump is light and convenient to operate with power drill. we have had it running for up to 40 mins moving water between rain barrels. Does just what we wanted. also specification on line was clear and delivery was quick. seems a good buy!
The pump is fairly tight, which means the pump body fights hard to turn if hand held. i managed to snap both hose adapters the first time i tried it. Fortunately, these are standard size, so i was able to replace. suggest you screw the pump to a piece of wood before use.
Perfect for emptying and refilling a large aquarium, easier than trying to hold a 25 litre container of ro water steady!
Needed urgent transfer of kerosene from a collapsing tank to a new one. this did it beautifully, thank you.
Good quality and value for money.
It works well on a mains-powered drill, but i was hoping to use it on a rechargeable one and it flattens mine before it pumps out what i need to pump out. i also don't like the requirement to immerse it in water to pre-fill it before use. it's just inconvenient. when (if) it breaks i'll try something else.
Used to move 700l of kerosene from tank to vessels and back. You need a drill that can work anticlockwise hose fittings a bit flimsy - broke one. Very pleased overall and good value
Have only used the pump twice (once to transfer a butt full of water to amother butt and once to empty a large planter to a butt - it had fill with rain water and was too heavy to move) on both occasions it performed better than expected - it is easily connected to existing hoses with standard hozelock connectors. Brilliant.
Done just as it said on the box several friend have also made use of my pump and all been happy
I used this pump to push a hydrochloric solution around my combi boiler to de-scale the heat exchanger. It worked absolutely fine and was run at slow speed for 3 hours on and off. Totally reliable and whole job cost me the price of the pump and the de-scaler. I saved hundreds of pounds. Very reliable pump complete with fittings- great value.
Used it to pump out a waterlogged conservatory build after a heavy rain storm. this happened three times so the pump was used on a moderate drill speed setting for at least 90 mins in total. It worked extremely well and cleared lots of murky water. used it to empty water tank ... Again excellent throughput of water .....
Did the job that i wanted it to do easily, very good value for money and quick delivery, very pleased.
This little pump was abused badly - but it never stopped. it shifted over a 1000ltrs of heating oil in a little over an hour and a week latter it did the some again. i have flushed it out and cleaned it ready for the next time. outstanding bit of kit - highly recommended.
This pump did exactly what i wanted it for. It appeared well made and robust but it burnt out after 35 mins of use. perhaps i used to much speed/thrust on my drill.
